Ron dorff flagship store
Located in SoHo’s historic Gunther building which dates back to 1873, the Ron Dorff Flagship is inspired by the menswear brand’s Scandinavian roots. JPA created a blank canvas within the iconic loft aesthetic of the neighborhood by restoring much of the existing subway tile and painting the Corinthian columns and tin ceiling. Against this white backdrop, custom shelving units made from warm birch wood and matte black-painted wrought iron and pieces of equipment from Swedish and French university gyms are sprinkled throughout the space. As the brand’s North American retail headquarters, JPA also outfitted the basement of the retail space with an extensive shipping department and employee offices.
From Architectural Digest “The Best New Retail Experiences Opening for Fall Across the Globe”: Located in the Gunther building in SoHo (which dates back to 1873), the menswear brand is inspired by its Scandinavian roots (bright birch wood, matte black-painted wrought iron, and neutral white walls and ceilings) with pieces from Swedish and French university gyms sprinkled throughout. The restoration and design are by Jon Powell, a Brooklyn-based designer who brought to life the vision of the brand: upgrading iconic menswear must-haves of the past, from sportswear to homeware, to underwear and swimwear.
